How to get to Hyvinkää/Riihimäki from Helsinki Airport

You have two option to travel from the Helsinki Airport to Hyvinkää/Riihimäki:

1. Train

I and P trains serve all stations along the line (Ring Rail line). Take train P from the airport to Tikkurila.

The trains run every ten minutes Monday to Friday and Saturdays, every 15 minutes on Sundays. The entrance to the train station at the Airport is in the corridor between the terminals 1 and 2. Tickets can be bought from the vending machines at the railway station. On trains, there are also separate cars where tickets can be purchased. The train timetables can be found here.

Change a train in Tikkurila. Take train R to Hyvinkää (Riihimäki direction, Hyvinkää is the previous stop before the end station Riihimäki). The trains run every 30 minutes (always 26 minutes and 56 minutes past the hour). It takes 31 minutes to get to Hyvinkää and 39 min to Riihimäki.

2. Taxi

The easiest option is to take a taxi from the airport. It costs about €90 to Hyvinkää and about €100 to Riihimäki for 1-2 passengers. The cost of 1-2 additional passengers is around €10.

How to get to Helsinki City Center from Helsinki Airport

You have two option to travel from the Helsinki Airport to Helsinki city center:

  1. FINNAIR City Bus. Tickets can be bought from the driver.

  2. Train: I and P trains serve all stations along the Ring Rail line. I trains run counter clockwise (Helsinki-Tikkurila-Airport-Myyrmäki-Helsinki) and P trains clockwise (Helsinki-Myyrmäki-Airport-Tikkurila-Helsinki). You can take both ways, the trains end up to Helsinki city center. The trains run every ten minutes Monday to Friday and Saturdays, every 15 minutes on Sundays. The journey from the airport to the Central Railway Station via Tikkurila takes 27 minutes, via Myyrmäki 32 minutes. Tickets can be bought from the vending machines at the railway station. The entrance to the train station at the Airport is in the corridor between the terminals 1 and 2. The train timetables can be found here.
