American Education at Hyria

In the fall of 2010, you will have the opportunity to begin studying for an AA degree under Hyria’s instruction. After two years of successful learning you can achieve a total of 60 credits, which you can utilize in transferring to certain universities in the United States in order to continue your studies. After two American academic years, you can complete a Bachelor’s degree.

The orientation alternative for Hyria’s AA degree program is Business Administration, whose subjects during the period of four semesters include Accounting, Business Calculus, Management, English Composition, Math, Micro- and Macroeconomics, Computer & Internet Literacy, etc.

Studying in America can be expensive; by studying for the first two years in Finland, you can save money and give yourself time to think about what majors you wish to choose. As the education program is entirely in English, the language skills of those students whose mother tongue is not English are reinforced and strengthened during the studies. Exploiting the blended learning method, the studies offer the possibility of working alongside the study program. The instruction will be arranged in Hyvinkää and Riihimäki.

The education program is primarily intended for upper secondary school graduates with good English skills as well as the ability and desire to study in English.

The application period will end on September 1, 2010. You will have to have a high school diploma. You can be accepted as a student either after you have completed a three-part English language test with sections on Reading Comprehension, Mathematics and Reading or you have SAT or ACT results.

The annual payment for instruction (incl. two semesters) is EUR 3800 for Finnish nationals and EUR 6500 for the nationals of other countries. This payment does not include preliminary testing, learning materials or other separate charges required by Broward College. Their estimated annual share is during two years is approx. EUR 1000.
